Yoga Retreat

Yoga Retreats are a rare treat I like to indulge when time allows.

Currently I am organizing two 5 day/4 nights retreats on Bali.
I like to focus on inner and outer well-being and hence my retreats integrate a lot non physical classes as well to keep the balance right.

What awaits you

some more details

The Retreat starts in the afternoon of the arrival day with welcome and orientation before your first yoga session by the pool. You will finish your journey on the last day after a final session of yoga and a leisurely breakfast before you get ready to depart.
An extra nights stay can always be arranged at time of booking.

There will be two asana (posture) based classes a day. The style will be Hatha taking a more invigorating form in the morning and a gentle finish in the evening stretching the body out for a good evening rest.

Apart from the physical postures you will be immersed in the more supple aspects of yoga that will help you find a new appreciation for its way of life.

Deeply relax in yoga nidra (yogic sleep) as your whole body is talked through relaxation ques and the mind is taken on an inner journey.

With mantra chant you'll find a new way to turn inwards. Maybe not everyone can sing but certainly everyone can chant. The sounding of the ancient sanskrit words create vibrations that harmonize the bodies energies and give a greater sense of connection.

Guided meditations/visualizations takes the mind on a journey, while the body relaxes. It can help in finding new energy, strength or just blissful calm. Often creating scenarios that the mind can retreat to again and again to allow relief from stress.

We will also talk about the 8 limbs of yoga during the retreat which will be a simple introduction to yogic philosophy. Bringing to mind that yoga is a holistic system of mind, body and spirit, of which none should be neglected.

What awaits you

The Retreat starts Sunday afternoon (arrival between 2pm and 4pm) however early arrivals may leave their luggage make their way to our neighbourhood Café.

There will be a welcome and orientation before your first yoga session at 5pm.

For the moment our accommodation is located in the main venue Jardín Campo Alegre. In Campo Alegre we have 5 beautiful little cabañas with individual ensuite bathrooms in each cabin giving you the space you need.

There will be on each full day two to three asana (posture) based classes a day consisting of aerial yoga and Hatha yoga. On 1st November the program will vary as we leave after breakfast to the giant kite festival and finish the day with a lovely  dinner and camp fire back at Celestial dance home.

We serve three delicious meals a day, some of which are taken at the local Café.

On our daytrip we will provide a packed lunch.

This retreat happens at a special time of year. In many pagan and Christian beliefs the veil between the worlds is thinnest on Samhain night/ all hallows day, an opportune moment to communicate through meditation with those that have come before us.

With gratitude and an open heart we commemorate our departed and immerge ourselves in the local tradition of building a kite in their honour and letting it fly in hope to touch their souls one more time at one of Guatemala's amazing giant kite festivals that are held in celebration of this day.

In addition to the kite festival we will also carve chilecayotes and have a little ceremony for the dead on Samhain eve.

The retreat finishes after our return from the kite festival on 1st November
