Flexibility training
In order to make moves look more fluid and to easily transition flexibility is a must. We will work in the hammocks and on the mat to lengthen and strengthen our muscles.
Strength training
Strength and conditioning is very important as you are required to lift your own body weight around the apparatus. Learn the right technique on and off the equipment in order to progress. Particular attention will be paid to core strength and upper body.
Hammock Fundamentals
The hammock is the easiest apparatus to learn on therefore we will dedicate a good part of the workshop learning our way around it. Lifting your own weight, performing easy and translatable tricks as well as inverting safely can best be trained and learned here.
Working across different apparatuses
The hoop and trapeze differ from the hammock and so do the silks and then again there are many similar moves. Here we will learn to accommodate ourselves around these different apparatuses while understanding how to find the same poses on more flexible or solid aerial equipment. what is easy in one may be difficult on another and vice versa.
Understanding the underlying principles
Finally we will translate a small routines onto the different apparatuses. Seeing how movements flow similarly and yet different, how shapes are held and how movements flow together. Ideally we will be able to perform the same or similar routine over all different pieces of aerial equipment.
